JC Economics Tutor Mr Koh’s Articles

Below is a series of articles related to JC Economics Tuition written by JC Economics Tutor Mr Koh. Mr Koh has also written for Economics & Society, a publication by the Economic Society of Singapore. He is currently a member of the editorial team. Each edition of the magazine features a series of articles focused on a specific topic that aims to uncover the human elements at the core of economic matters. By blending the analytical approach of positive economics with the ethical questions raised by normative economics, Economics & Society seeks to provoke thought and encourage readers to consider how economics can be used to improve society through thoughtful decision-making.

Other published works by Mr Koh can be viewed here (Shing Lee Education’s official Shopify page). Other than the Economics Ten Year Series (from 2004 until now), Mr Koh has also written two guidebooks on Economics. Mr Koh has also set up a companion website for students to revise Economics concepts and to practise writing answer plans. Completed essay plans can be submitted to Mr Koh for review. An Economics boardgame for students to revise the application of macroeconomic policies and their limitations is also in the works.

Supporting Economics Tuition Infrastructure

As a JC Economics Tutor, Mr Koh believes in the use of complementary infrastructure to support his classroom teaching. Students are also welcome to check out his social media pages (Tiktok, Instagram) or subscribe to his Youtube channel for more explanatory videos tackling common questions faced by JC Economics students.

Most educators in Economics agree that Cambridge had in recent years shifted its approach towards assessing students on their critical thinking and higher-order analytical skills. This has important implications for the way students approach essay and case study questions.

Across JC Economics tutor Mr Koh’s teaching resources, important memory skills are taught to help students remember the key concepts contained within the syllabus. Students are also equipped with problem-solving skills to help them tackle typical examination questions and challenging higher-level thinking questions.
