Economics Tuition Trial Class – What to Expect

Each Economics tuition trial class is conducted on a paid basis (1 lesson, pro-rated). Students attending the class can expect a full 2-hour class consisting of

 

    • Content distillation: cutting through content in school notes to highlight key themes that are commonly tested.
    • Application skills: learning of key writing structures (packed into easy-to-remember mnemonics) to help tackle common tested questions.
    • Question review: exposure to past year examination questions to develop student’s conviction i.e. to see how the structures learnt can be put to practice.

    Before joining Mr Koh's classes, I thought of economics as a hard-core memorization subject. I was very lost as to how to write an essay, mostly spamming content based on what I memorised from lecture notes. Unable grasp the subject, I fared badly in JC1, failing my examinations. After attending Mr Koh's lessons for a period of time, I learned that there was a structure we could follow for every essay question, and that helped me greatly in essay writing. Using acronyms to help us recall structures and content better, I realised that I did not have to memorise tons of essays to be able to write well.

    Besides just being spectacular at teaching, Mr Koh is truly one of the most inspiring teacher that have made a great impact on my life. His positivity and good energy radiates through his classes and it honestly always brightens up my day. I’ve often struggled with listening and liking teachers my whole life (which eventually even made me dropped out of my JC) but I can confidently say that Mr Koh is one of the only few exceptions in my life where i truly respect him. After dropping out, Mr Koh’s guidance really really helped my studying so much. While i also definitely put in a lot of effort studying to get my ‘A’ grade, it would not have been possible without the help of Mr Koh. i really cannot speak higher and recommend any teacher more than Mr Koh!!!
